This project is relased under GNU GPL licence. The main idea of open source CAM comes from lack of such a application under GNU Licence. There is already lots of “free” 3D modelling programs (usually designed for use in graphics rendering, but quite sutable to use as CAD). There is also very good CNC software called EMC, which can drive almost any CNC machine. But there is no free (of charge) software which could translate 3D models to NC codes.

I'm probably, as many of you reading this, very interested in such a software. I have almost finished my own CNC machine and there are three reasons I don't want to buy CAM:

1. There is no CAM on the market which fit my needs
2. Those a bit usefull are expensive
3. I have sometimes specific needs, so I want to have a possibility to change the code

What I want from you, is a little input in ideas, coding, testing, keeping this site up to date.

I hope to fill “free” CAM gap with YOU.
